Welcome to ObedientFaith where we are Living Faith Through Action! We are so glad you are here. Because you’re here, it shows you want to change the world by helping spread God’s powerful and saving message.
The ObedientFaith mission is to be THE online resource for Christians seeking to grow spiritually while spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. We strive to provide unique and practical how-to content to help the church grow.
Will you join us in our mission of growing the church? There are three ways on this site you can live your faith through your actions.
First – Follow the scriptures and actions on the 31 Day Spiritual Growth Calendar and watch your spirituality soar. You will notice your growth and so will everyone around you. The great news is that the calendar is FREE! Get it by signing up here.
Not only will you receive the free calendar, you’ll also get notified when new articles are released and when we have exciting news to share.
Second – Have you been involved with any mission work in the past? Do you serve in any capacity (i.e., preacher, deacon, treasurer, elder, etc.) with your local congregation? Do you have a passion for evangelism, teaching or even church finances?
If you answered “yes” to any of the questions above, you have valuable experience and knowledge to share with others. Why not share it here with the ObedientFaith community? If you’d like to share that knowledge to make others’ lives better, contact us here.
Third – There is so much valuable information on this site. Don’t keep it to yourself. When you see something one of your friends, family members or colleagues would find useful, share it with them by using the social sharing buttons on the left side of the page.
Fourth – Pray for us. We are striving to make it easier to make Christians and your prayer will help.
The ObedientFaith Story
Bert Purdy, ObedientFaith’s founder, serves his as his congregation’s treasurer and deacon over worship. Because of the hours spent in his service, he realized how much he used external resources to be more productive and effective.
What if there was one online website with everything a church needs to function effectively and grow? That’s what we’re trying to do here at ObedientFaith. We want to be that one place every Christian goes to get what they need to facilitate growth.
In 2014, Bert approached Dr. Phil Brown, the Chair of the Accounting Department at Harding University, about getting some students to work on the project. In the Spring of 2015, that simple question then turned into a scholarship and semester-long project for three hand-picked students, sponsored by Dr. Brown and led by Bert.
Over the course of the semester, the team of five had conference calls once a week, taking the project from the idea phase to launching in May 2015.
The team of students was composed of Shelbi Fowler, Aaron Clements and Luke Smith. See below for a little bit about each of these contributors.
Luke Smith will graduate from Harding University in May 2016 with a major in Business Management and a minor in Bible & Ministry. He hails from Huntsville, Alabama and attends the Madison church of Christ. Luke looks forward to his 5th year in school and is preparing to begin a career in Youth Ministry soon after graduation. Shelbi Fowler graduated from Harding University in May 2015 with a major in Marketing and a minor in Spanish. She grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina and attended the Providence Road church of Christ. Shelbi has accepted a position with J.B. Hunt in Lowell, Arkansas as a Carrier Sales Coordinator. Aaron Clements is an Accounting major at Harding University. He was raised in Abilene, Texas where he attended the Hillcrest church of Christ. Follow Aaron on Twitter @aaronclmnts.
Bert Purdy is the founder of ObedientFaith and IntentionalEmployee.com. He is a 2000 graduate of Harding University and has worked for a national public accounting firm since graduation. Bert is married to Denise and has three daughters.
Continuing the Mission
Bert has pledged 10% of the net income from ObedientFaith.com to Harding University for future scholarships so students can work on similar projects. Please see our store for our products and help support future students with getting real world business experience.
